Natural Humber Houses

Natural Number Houses is a series of seven houses, designed to be featured as part of the One House Per Day platform. Our approach starts with a simple rule: build with standard Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels (solid wood panels made from layers of boards glued at right angles) and waste nothing.

We cut and fold panels like origami, then use every piece in the design. The series grows by counting: House 1 uses one panel; House 2 uses two panels. We draw from regional species including white spruce, southern yellow pine, hemlock, larch, tulip poplar, and eastern white pine to support local forests.
