Monospace

Chattanooga, TN

Monospace is envisioned as a dynamic extension of Stove Works, an established arts center housed in a historic factory in Chattanooga’s Southside. This new space will merge immersive sound, hospitality, and curated experiences to seamlessly foster community connection with creative expression at the heart. Designed for fluid transitions between vibrant celebration, restorative pause, and thoughtful reflection, Monospace will host a wide spectrum of programs, making it a vital cultural node for the city.

In its combination of old and new materials, Monospace is a mix of grit and growth, featuring a new flush of local plants and a lightweight architecture that slinks between the steel columns of the past. A cloud of lightweight local hemlock supported by mounds of river rock will cover diners and dancers from the elements. Lighting, gardens, music, and food will make the essential design come alive in new ways every time a dinner is hosted.
