La Sala

Yavapai County, AZ

La Sala, the living room and library of Rancho Almasomos, is a 1940s structure being thoughtfully reconstructed with natural materials to preserve its historic character. The original hearth will remain as the emotional center of the space, while a new fireplace in the reading room adds a quiet corner for reflection. Built on its existing foundations and maintaining its rooflines, the design honors the building’s memory while adapting it for contemporary use.

Inside, the space will be made accessible to all and a small bar will be added to support its ability to host intimate gatherings. These updates allow La Sala to grow into an archival center for the site’s history, archeology, and stories.

Inside, a small wet bar will support events, and the structure will be made fully accessible to welcome all visitors. These updates allow La Sala to serve as both an archival center and a setting for intimate gatherings within the landscape. La Sala can be seen as housing the site’s history, archeology, and stories.
